Malta Trip- 12th-19th September2010
Odyssey Dive Centre and customers are looking to return to see our friends at DiveWise and TechWise in St Julian's Bay, Malta, to help celebrate Divewise’s 40th Anniversary.
Malta trips have proved consistently popular with plenty of dives to suit all level of divers and is very popular with non-divers too!
Malta combines fantastic shore based and boat diving with all the usual relaxing recreational diving you expect from a small island in a warm climate. Customers who have visited before recommend unwrapping the secrets of the house reef with a night dive! Cirkawwa reef is also spectacular in the dark - with cuttlefish, crabs and shrimp, as well as the occasional octopus and the wonderful sparkle of bioluminescence in the water when you move. A trip to Gozo to see the dramatic Blue Hole, Chimney and Inland Sea are also a must.
For the more adventurous diver there are plenty of deep wrecks to explore around the island including The Tug-boat Rozi (34m), where Scorpion and Cardinal fish can be spotted, Umm El Farood (33m) and the more recent P29 (30m+), that's just waiting to be explored!
If Tec Diving is your thing then Malta, through TechWise, offers this in abundance. Deep drop offs on Gozo, the HMS Stubborn submarine lying at 56m, the Polynesian lying in 65m and HMS Southwold lying in 75m. New wrecks are being discovered all the time and recently a cargo ship has been discovered lying in 100m.
For those non-divers, or if you just fancy a day off, then Malta is a great island to explore above sea level. It is steeped in history and a day in Valletta is a must. If you want to go further afield then you can visit nearby Sicily for the day.
