Welcome to the Social Events area
The social activities at Odyssey are excellent. In a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, Odyssey’s divers can relax and make good friends, learn more about diving and share their passions and interests with other likeminded people. There is literally something for everyone.
There are regular talks and seminars on everything from diver training and progression aimed specifically at divers from beginners to professional experts, on topics ranging from photography, conservation and diving abroad through to buying equipment, keeping up with new technological advances in diving and understanding diving medicine. The Odyssey shop is opened on special discount nights along with the annual open day.
Come and join us on one of the regular trips to see various diving related attractions, from places such as the Blue Planet Aquarium, maritime museums to RNLI stations, and visits to manufacturers to see how diving equipment is made.
We are involved in lots of charitable events, from raising money for the RNLI and other sea charities on our annual open day through to world-wide events such as the annual PADI Beach Clean. Many of our divers are passionate about conservation and the preservation of the oceans and we are active participants in the Project AWARE programme.
There are annual Christmas and summer events, meals and cinema nights and on the first Tuesday of the month, we meet at the Kings Hall pub in Cheadle Hulme, across the road from Odyssey Dive Centre, to relax, talk diving and have a few beers, usually followed by a curry!
