2010 Odyssey Tec Expedition to German U-boat U-1021

The U-1021 was lost in 1945 with all hands. It sits now at 58m on the bottom of the Atlantic, 10 miles off Newquay.

Following the success of recent expeditions, a new expedition will shortly be announced inviting suitably experienced tec divers, to dive this once in a lifetime wreck.

How this majestic vessel met its end remains a mystery to the public but the research carried out by Odyssey Tec divers on previous expeditions revealed a fate not known to anyone for over 64 years.

Diving this wreck is challenging but is arguably one of the best technical dives the UK has to offer.

On the 1st dive of our most recent expedition to the U-10121, we saw that a trawler had dragged the top hatch off the conning tower. We were able to salvage the hatch from the seabed so this awesome piece of hostory would not be lost forever.

This video is of our 2nd dive as we recovered the hatch. We have delicately restored the hatch to its former glory and it now sits in Odyssey HQ for all to come and see.
